Apple’s “Attention Correction”! : Apple uses AI/AR tech to move your eyes, so that you look like you are looking directly at the other user instead of the screen.

Apple has added a new feature as part of iOS 13 called FaceTime Attention Correction. It corrects your eyesight using augmented reality so that when you are looking right at the screen — at the person you are talking to — your eyes appear to be looking right at them instead of below the screen. Here is how it works…

Data Science Toolkit (Concepts + Code)

Hi folks !! In this post, i will discuss about basic tools and software that one can use to solve a data science problem.

What is a Data Science Toolkit ?
Well, Data science toolkit is nothing but a list of functions / modules / packages / frameworks /software that can really help a data scientist to solve a problem. Sometimes you have these functions / packages available in form of 3rd party packages or software and sometimes you are required to create your own. That’s why a True Data Scientist is a mix of ( Statistician and a Programmer ).

MIT Aims to Ease AI Programming

A new AI programming language seeks to ease the process of writing inference algorithms and other predictive models without the hassle of grinding out complicated equations and code.

Among the goals of the probabilistic programming system dubbed “Gen” is making it easier for coding novices to write models and algorithms for broader AI applications such as computer vision and robotics.

Presented in a paper by MIT researchers at a recent technical conference, the “general purpose” language is based on the Julia programming language aimed at high-end numerical analysis and computational science. The 1.0 version of Julia was released last year.

Is your firm sitting on valuable exhaust data? – Cuemacro

I’ve never tried to use a metal detector. The dream, I assume, of folks that use metal detectors is to find treasure! In an unassuming grass field, maybe they’ll stumble across Roman gold or perhaps a Tudor necklace? The chances are pretty low. Perhaps, a lot of metal objects you’d dig up would pretty worthless. However, you never quite know, maybe they’ll be something very valuable there? In order to increase your chances, you need to do your homework to identify areas which used to have significant human habitation. Was there a castle there, or perhaps a fort?

Every firm has that unassuming field, which may have had that castle. Instead of grass (and perhaps gold), instead there is data. And there is lots of data there too! Some of it could potentially be very valuable, except no one realises it. Why? Because, there isn’t any strategy to deal with this unstructured mass of data. In all likelihood no one knows what datasets are even being collected. Throughout the course of a firm’s daily business it will generate large amounts of data. For a bank, this data will include all the transactions it makes with clients. For an industrial firm, it might be what type of inventory you have, or the number of e-mail you receive daily. This is all “exhaust data”, which is the byproduct of every day activity for firms. In this field of “exhaust data” there could be value. A lot of this data could be unusual, so called alternative data, including text and image data.

Why “AI Job Issue” is not the Real Reason for Unemployment?

Despite the predictions of artificial intelligence taking over millions of jobs, it is the employers who need to be at stake. The deficit of AI professionals is merely a part of the challenge, says research. Although AI is predicted to replace tens and hundreds of employees working towards a shared mission with a single solution, however, behind all these predictions, they are meant for a longer term. Probably twenty to thirty years down the line.

An analysis conducted by PwC’s automation study says that stressing on AI and ruling out saying that it is the main cause for mass unemployment is not radical. This technology is not smart enough to conduct any task on its own. According to the study, an analysis was done taking in 29 countries into consideration, and the result, a mere 1% of the jobs will lose to automation that included AI as a subset. The present AI is more about enhancing the human power making them better at decision making and helping them become more productive. Currently stressing on AI being the core subject for unemployment is not necessary.

Deep Learning Can Now Find Galaxies That Are Million Of Lightyears Away

Artificial Intelligence has been playing a dynamic role in the field of space engineering and space technology. For instance, intelligent robots are now roaming on Mars which can make certain decisions without commands from mission control.

Most of the galaxies in the Universe live in low-density environments which are known as “the field” or in small groups such as Milky Way. However, galaxy clusters are rarer to find and this study of the galaxy clusters will benefit the astronomers to understand the extreme environmental effects on galaxy evolution and determine the cosmological parameters which govern the growth of large scale structure in the Universe.

Deep Learning Can Now Find Galaxies That Are Million Of Lightyears Away
In astronomy, deep learning has proven itself to be very convenient due to the abundance of imaging data available from the modern telescopes. The researchers stated that this approach will be further used to analyse the enormous outputs from the telescopes such as LSST (Large Synoptic Survey Telescope). However, the deep learning technique is yet to be developed to detect as well as determine the intrinsic properties of galaxy clusters from wide-field imaging data.

Recently, researchers from Lancaster University introduced a novel deep learning technique known as Deep-CEE (Deep Learning for Galaxy Cluster Extraction and Evaluation) to search for the galaxy clusters which are millions of lightyears across.

How to create your own Question-Answering system easily with python

The history of Machine Comprehension (MC) has its origins along with the birth of first concepts in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The brilliant Allan Turing proposed in his famous article “Computing Machinery and Intelligence” what is now called the Turing test as a criterion of intelligence. Almost 70 years later, Question Answering (QA), a sub-domain of MC, is still one of the most difficult tasks in AI.

However, since last year, the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) has experienced a fast evolution thanks to the development in Deep Learning research and the advent of Transfer Learning techniques. Powerful pre-trained NLP models such as OpenAI-GPT, ELMo, BERT and XLNet have been made available by the best researchers of the domain.

With such progress, several improved systems and applications to NLP tasks are expected to come out.
